After a night out, Sam’s drunk enough not to care what’s happening back home in the US. She clings to her date refusing to think about the plague decimating the East Coast.
“American?” asks a cop as they exit the metro.
“Yes,” Sam says while her date shakes his head no.
Cops tear them apart and drag her into quarantine, where Sam scoffs at the stories of those who are working to keep everything stable. Stories of vampires who fear no disease, who work magic, and drink blood to stay alive.
Vampires and magic are just a myth. They have no place in Sam’s world, until she’s shipped to the East Coast to be part of a sacrifice to bring about the apocalypse and meets a vampire who needs her help to stop the other vampires from taking over the world.
